Rhinoplasty is a nasal reshaping surgery for people with an abnormal or frustrating appearance of their nose. It is important to find an experienced surgeon to achieve an aesthetically pleasing and natural appearance after rhinoplasty.

Why do patients consider rhinoplasty?

  • To reshape an ill-defined, uneven and wide nasal tip;
  • To increase the projection of the nasal tip;
  • Change the size and/or shape of the nostrils;
  • Straighten a crooked nose;
  • Improve the profile by lengthening a short nose;
  • Improve the profile by removing bumps or hollows in the bridge of the nose;
  • Modify the size and shape of the nose to improve the balance of the face;
  • Improve breathing through the nose.

Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?

The best candidates for rhinoplasty are people who are physically and psychologically healthy, who do not smoke, and who have realistic goals for what can be achieved through cosmetic nose surgery.

How is cosmetic nose surgery performed?

As with any form of cosmetic surgery, facelifts carry a number of potential risks. However, having your procedure performed through a reputable and recognized medical tourism agency like MedCare Vacations greatly reduces your risk of complications.

How a Rhinoplasty is performed

After numbing the area to be operated on, your rhinoplasty surgeon will make incisions to access the bones and cartilage that support the nose. There are two general techniques for making incisions: open and closed.

By adding or removing bone and cartilage and adjusting the supporting structures inside the nose, the size of the nose can be reduced or increased and the nose can be shortened or lengthened.

Next, the surgeon reshapes the skin and other soft tissues to fit the new shape of the nose.

In some patients, tissue fillers or fat grafts may be added to increase volume in the desired areas.

Once the desired shape changes are achieved, the nose is closed with fine stitches. At the end of the surgery, soft splints can be placed inside the nose to support the nasal septum.

Practical recommendations during the recovery period

Minimal activity is recommended during the week following the day of nose surgery.

Oral analgesics are used for 2 to 3 days. Splints and sutures are removed after 7 days. No strenuous activity is allowed for 3 weeks.

After 3 weeks, normal cardiovascular exercise and non-contact sports can be gradually resumed. No activity restrictions after 6 weeks.

Most of the swelling disappears within a few weeks after surgery, but it takes a year for the residual swelling to completely resolve and show the final nasal contour.

During this time, your nose will look normal, but you may notice gradual changes in the appearance of your nose as it refines to a more permanent result.

At MedCare Vacations, we are known not only for the beautiful results we create, but also for the personalized attention that characterizes our patient care.

Our surgeons have years of experience sculpting looks for patients using the latest innovations and safest surgical practices.
